Jeff Loring, CFP®, CLTC, CRPS®

Founder, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™

As an entrepreneur, Jeff is passionate about working with business owners to manage their personal finances as well as their company retirement plans. He knows the intricacies of running a small business, and his specialized knowledge and expertise in investments, credit, and insurance is specific to small business situations.

Jeff’s practice focuses on assisting high-net-worth individuals and business owners to develop comprehensive investment, insurance, and retirement planning strategies to meet their short- and long-term financial objectives. In his own words, Jeff “helps people retire successfully.” We help our clients determine what success means to them and then come up with a financial plan to support their vision.

Jeff started his career in the property/casualty insurance industry in 1979 and transitioned to finance 15 years later after enrolling in the College of Financial Planning to better understand how to invest in his own 401(k). After just a few courses, Jeff found his calling and knew he wanted to be a financial advisor for the rest of his working career.

After several years with the firm that is now known as Ameriprise, he started Loring Financial Planning & Investments in 1996 to better serve clients as an independent, fee-based financial advisor.

Founder, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™

Colleen joined the practice in October 2006 with more than 20 years of insurance experience. Colleen handles diverse client needs, and she is passionate about helping women secure their financial future.

The conversation of retirement has shifted to a discussion of longevity, and many women will outlast their male partners by 1015 years. Colleen’s goal is to ensure that her female clients are empowered to save for a potentially longer lifespan. This includes assisting clients dealing with caregiving and preserving assets that may be devastated by long-term health issues in retirement.

Other women’s issues that Colleen has experience with include divorce, estate planning, same-sex relationships, and widows.

She is also well versed in the (often complex) workings of Medicare, Social Security, and entitlements.

**The 2017 ranking of Forbes' Top 500 Millennials (1) recognizes advisors born in 1980 or later with a minimum of four years of experience. The advisor was rated based on a proprietary algorithm of qualitative and quantitative criteria: assets under management, revenues generated for their firms, client retention, industry experience, credentials, and compliance records. SHOOK Research also employs an opinion-based weighting system that prioritizes its preferred "best practices," which include business models, activities, processes, and structure. 2,356 advisers were considered and 500 (21 percent of advisors) were recognized. For the full methodology (2) that Forbes developed in partnership with SHOOK Research, please visit here [https://shookresearch.com/due-diligence/].

(1) This recognition and the due-diligence process conducted are not indicative of the advisor's future performance. Your experience may vary. You are encouraged to conduct your own research to determine if the advisor is right for you.

(2) Portfolio performance is not a criterion due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data. SHOOK does not receive a fee in exchange for rankings.
